Rotherfield Parish Council has a CCTV system in operation. The footage and information recorded by our CCTV system is stored remotely. The CCTV system, recorded material and copyright are owned by Rotherfield Parish Council.
The data recorded and stored on our system will be only accessible to authorised Councillors, Council Administrator and the Parish Clerk; and – in the event it is deemed necessary – to Sussex Police. Examples of when we would share this data with the Police include: the need for the identification, apprehension and prosecution of offenders; reducing the incidence of crime and anti-social behaviour (including theft and vandalism) and traffic violations.
Recognisable images captured by Rotherfield parish Council’s CCTV system are considered ‘personal data’ and therefore are subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.
You have the right to access the information on you that we hold, and can do so by applying to Rotherfield Parish Council. Please request from the Clerk an Access Request Form and your request will be submitted to the next meeting of the Parish Council for consideration and reply, normally within one calendar month.
There are no fees or charges for the first request but additional requests for the same personal data or requests which are manifestly unfounded or excessive may be subject to an administrative fee of £30.00.
